Abdoun Corridor, after a few years of its establishment, the talk about it has changed! So, what has changed in Abdoun Corridor today?
In a densely populated capital like Amman, which suffers from continuous traffic congestion, it is not enough to just build bridges and open tunnels to alleviate the severe traffic crises. There is a need to create major road networks that connect its main areas and ensure smooth transportation movement. Thus, the Abdoun Corridor project, which today serves as a main passage between the south and west of Amman towards East Amman, was initiated. In addition, it is an investment corridor consisting of commercial, residential, health, and entertainment projects, among other things, including long-term continuous development phases.
The Greater Amman Municipality developed Prince Abdullah Bin Al Hussein Street and Princess Basma Street to connect the Prince Hashim Intersection (Al-Qaisiyah Roundabout) to create the Abdoun Corridor project. Today, it serves as a vital artery to Queen Alia International Airport and connects the south, west, and east of Amman. The Abdoun Corridor project was inaugurated in 2016.
The location of the corridor played a crucial role in naming the project "Corridor" due to its proximity to the diplomatic district and the commercial center in Abdoun. Additionally, the Abdoun Corridor includes various entrances to and from Amman and connects its most important areas. It also serves as a primary passage to Queen Alia International Airport.
The Abdoun Corridor stretches about 5 kilometers, encompassing an area of approximately 592,000 square meters. This area includes organized and subdivided lands for various uses, with strategic plans to develop diverse economic projects, including residential, commercial, and entertainment projects. The Abdoun Corridor was established with six lanes, three lanes in each direction, along with organizational capacity for service streets.
The Abdoun Corridor starts from the Prince Hussein Intersection, which has outlets to Al-Thuhair, Marj Al-Hamam, the Airport Road, Al-Hurriyah Street, Rabwat Abdoun, and reaches the middle of the Abdoun Corridor up to the Prince Hashim Intersection, which has outlets to the southern and northern Abdoun areas. It ends at the Al-Qaisiyah Roundabout, which leads to Downtown, Al-Muhajireen, and Ras Al-Ain. Through these intersections, the Abdoun Corridor connects East Amman with West Amman from one side and South Amman with West Amman from the other, as well as South and East Amman.
Driven by Amman’s real estate development vision, the Greater Amman Municipality recently announced the launch of the Black Iris Project, which will be developed by Roya Jordan Company, serving as the main developer of the lands and investment rights owned by the Greater Amman Municipality.
The Black Iris Project will be developed within the investment strip of Abdoun Corridor, covering an area of 43,062 square meters and development rights up to 260,000 square meters. The project, which will include several towers on three plots of land, will feature:
As part of the project, side projects will be established to provide essential services, including:
The Black Iris Project in Abdoun Corridor, located in the heart of the capital, Amman, will create a qualitative investment shift in Amman. According to the plan, this project will boost the capital economically, commercially, and culturally, enhancing its status locally and globally and empowering the local economy.
The investment plan was included in the Abdoun Corridor project’s blueprint to take advantage of the space on which the project was built and develop it in various phases. Today, all types of real estate within the Abdoun Corridor project area attract investors and people wishing to live there, given its central location in Amman and the ease of movement between its areas.
Real estate prices in Abdoun Corridor are relatively high, but with the privileges of the area, owning property there has become desirable.
