Jabal Amman: A Journey Through Time

Jabal Amman, a journey worth enjoying!

We will take a long pause to talk about Jabal Amman, as perhaps words alone cannot suffice to describe it and speak of its rich history and its integration with modernity. Jabal Amman is a history that was written since the 1930s; it started from the First Circle in East Amman and extended westward through Zahran Street.

History of Jabal Amman

The beginnings of Jabal Amman's history date back to the declaration of the Emirate of Transjordan on April 11, 1921, when the Hashemite family chose it as their headquarters. From that moment, the history of Jabal Amman began to be written, marking its emergence as a historical and architectural landmark. Politicians, prominent traders, and economic figures began to choose Jabal Amman as a place for residence and establishment. They started buying lands and constructing large houses, which still stand today, carrying within their details a history that speaks of the antiquity of that place and time.

Starting from the area of the First Circle - the first roundabout established in Amman - the development of West Amman began. Jabal Amman witnessed various urban and structural developments over the years, reflecting the area's history and its stages of expansion and growth.

Geographical Location of Jabal Amman

Jabal Amman starts from the First Circle, which is the intersection point of Rainbow Street and Ninth Sha'ban Street, extending from Downtown Amman. It passes through the street of the Islamic Scientific College and reaches the area of the Third Circle, according to the organization of Amman Municipality, which defined Jabal Amman as the area between the First Circle and the Third Circle. However, some consider that Jabal Amman includes the Fourth and Fifth Circles as well. Others include the Sixth Circle, Seventh Circle, and Eighth Circle, due to the presence of Zahran Street, which smoothly connects these areas up to the Eighth Circle.

But why did the Fourth Circle area stand out among the rest of Jabal Amman?

The Fourth Circle Area

Or officially known as Prince Ghazi Bin Muhammad Square, but commonly referred to as the Fourth Circle or the Fourth Circle area...

The Fourth Circle is the pulsating heart of Jabal Amman and occupies a strategic location on Zahran Street between the Eight Circles. It accommodates numerous government, diplomatic, and medical buildings, making property prices in the Fourth Circle area the highest in Jabal Amman and the city of Amman in general.

The building of the Jordanian Prime Ministry; is the most prominent landmark located at the Fourth Circle. Additionally, several Arab and foreign embassies are situated there, such as the Egyptian Embassy, Algerian Embassy, French Embassy, Spanish Embassy, and others.

Furthermore, the Fourth Circle area boasts one of the most important medical streets, Khalidi Street, which houses the vital medical institution, Khalidi Hospital, and a significant number of renowned doctors and comprehensive medical facilities in Jordan. Additionally, the Jordan Hospital and Abdali Hospital are located there.

The Fourth Circle is connected to the suspended Abdoun Bridge and serves as the link between North Amman and the Airport Road, along with its connections to various areas and streets such as King Talal Square (Third Circle), Shmeisani Intersection, and Abdali.

The Fourth Circle area is a blend of old and modern residential properties, including palaces, villas, and apartments. Therefore, the Fourth Circle area is one of the safest and highly suitable areas for upscale and peaceful living, conveniently close to all services.

After discussing the Fourth Circle, what about the rest of the areas in Jabal Amman?
